Taste Notes

Nose: Real easy opener here, doesn’t hide its island roots. Melon, cinnamon and sweet, salty parma ham. Then the sweetness builds with honeycomb and chocolate, and in comes the peat, soft almost caramel and floral.

Palate: Pretty much follows the palate, very balanced between those soft peat notes and moreish sweet, juicy melon and ham flavours.

Finish: Fairly snappy in that it doesn’t hang about. Leaves a little sweet peat coating and lingering smoke notes.

Ardbeg

The Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall. But their Whisky was distilled long before that date. There is no documentation to confirm this claim, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794.
