The Glenfarclas Distillery

Glenfarclas distillery is a Speyside whisky distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland, owned and run by the Grant family.

The distillery was first granted a licence in 1836 and now has six stills which are the largest on Speyside and are heated directly by gas burners.

The company was named Distiller of the Year by Whisky Magazine in 2006.

Glenfarclas translates as meaning ‘Valley Of The Green Grass.’

 

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Strong, dark. Smoke, sherry tones. Sugar crust, spicy. Rubber.
Taste: Dense. Creamy sherry, butter, spicy, malt. Herbal, fresh.
Taste end: Long, full, rubbery at the end.
