About the brand
Glenfiddich
The Glenfiddich distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, near the town of Dufftown. Founded in 1887 by William Grant, it is one of the largest and most famous distilleries in Scotland, and is known for producing single malt Scotch whisky of exceptional quality.
The Glenfiddich whisky is made using local barley, which is malted on site, and crystal-clear water from the nearby Robbie Dhu springs. The distillation process at Glenfiddich is unique, as the whisky is distilled in tall copper pot stills with long, slender necks, which give the spirit a lighter, fruitier flavor.
After distillation, the whisky is aged in oak casks for a minimum of 12 years, although some of the whiskies are aged for up to 50 years. The Glenfiddich range includes a variety of single malts, from the classic 12-year-old to the more complex and aged 21-year-old and 30-year-old expressions.
The distillery itself is an impressive sight, with its traditional stone buildings and pagoda-style chimneys. It offers tours and tastings for visitors, where they can learn about the whisky-making process, visit the warehouses where the whisky is aged, and sample some of the different expressions of Glenfiddich whisky. The distillery also has a gift shop, where visitors can purchase bottles of their favorite whiskies and other Glenfiddich merchandise.
