It was voted Best Scottish Single Malt in 2005. The consecutive red stripe batches from 001 to 009 followed later, after which it became green stripe again. The current number is 0015. Limited bottling and rare.

Subdued and shy at first, sweet fruit, pears, red apples, sweet peat, gentle smoke and ashes.
Sweet peat, wet ashes in paste form, fruity again with tropical fruitiness edge, iodine and a touch of salt.
Long, ashy, peat, sweet fruit red apples. Overall it’s very ashy and velvety.
